Matt Edwards — The Real Estate Professor

Hi, I'm Matt Edwards — and I'm not your average agent.

For over two decades, I stood in front of university classrooms as a tenured professor of music — piano, specifically. I was a career educator whose job was to take complex ideas and make them completely understandable. Turns out, that skill translates pretty well to real estate.

When I made the leap, I brought everything with me: the patience, the curiosity, the deep love of explaining things clearly, and a genuine obsession with helping people do things they didn't think were possible.

I'm also a fix-and-flip investor myself. So when we talk construction, renovation costs, or investment upside, I'm not guessing. I've been in the trenches.

"Real estate is one of the most powerful wealth-building tools most people never fully understand. That's where I come in."

  • 20 Years as a Tenured Professor University-level educator with a deep background in structured learning and clear communication.
  • Buyer & Seller Representation From first-time buyers to seasoned sellers — every transaction handled with care and strategy.
  • Active Fix & Flip Investor Hands-on experience with renovations, contractor relationships, and property transformation.
  • Creative Problem-Solver Passionate about helping clients find paths they didn't know existed.

The curriculum.

Whether you're buying your first home, scaling an investment portfolio, or figuring out if a fix-and-flip pencils out — there's a course for that.

01
Home Buying

First-time buyers, move-up buyers, relocation — navigated with education, not pressure. You'll understand every step before you sign anything.

02
Home Selling

Strategic pricing, sharp marketing, and negotiation that's actually in your favor. Selling a home is a business decision — let's treat it like one.

03
Investment Properties

Rental analysis, cash flow projections, long-term strategy. I help investors think like investors — not just get excited about a listing.

04
Fix & Flip

I do these myself. From acquisition and renovation scope to ARV and exit strategy — this isn't textbook knowledge. It's earned.

05
Creative Strategies

Seller financing, lease-options, house hacking, value-add plays — for clients who want to think outside the conventional playbook.

06
Renovation Guidance

What to update, what to skip, how to talk to contractors, and what adds value vs. what just adds cost. Real-world perspective.

The Professor's Approach

I spent over 20 years teaching students piano, music theory, and music history. Many of those students thought they had no talent, no shot, no hope. But most of them were wrong. Real estate works in a similar way. Most people underestimate what's actually possible — they just need someone to show them the keys.

I've done the work. Literally.

Fix and flip investing sounds glamorous on TV. In reality it's a discipline — you need to know how to find the right property, estimate renovation costs accurately, manage contractors, and sell at the right moment for the right price.

I've done all of it. Which means when a client comes to me interested in flipping, I'm not handing them a pamphlet. I'm walking them through the actual playbook, based on real experience.

Whether you're flipping your first property or adding to an existing portfolio, let's run the real numbers — and make sure the deal actually makes sense before you're neck-deep in drywall mud.

Ready to learn something?

No obligation, no pitch. Just a real conversation about where you are and where you want to go in real estate.
